The Periyar wild life sanctuary in Thekkady is spread across 777 sq km of which 360 sq km is thick ever green forest. Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wild life and scenic beauty, the sanctuary was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978. Day 2 — Today morning after refresh and breakfast.proceed 8Hrs: Munnar local Sightseeing Mattupetty direction - which includes Tea Museum monday holiday, Tea Garden, Blossom hydel park, Flower garden , Photo point, Cinema Shooting Point, Elephant Spot and Jungle Honey Bee Nest. Mattupetty Dam & Kundala dam boating pay directly, Eco - point and Top station. Then go back Munnar town for lunch. After lunch move to Rajamalai (Eravikulam national park :- February to March entry restricted other month’s entry at 8 am to 4 pm). The most sought after destination in Munnar is the Eravikulam National Park, the first of its kind in Kerala, where the endangered Nilgiri Thar is protected.
