1. Eravikulam
Eravikulam National Park Eravikulam National Park is one of the largest biodiversity hotspots in India. Spread over an area of ââmore than 97 square kilometers in the Western Ghats, this park is under the Wildlife Department. Varyads are one of the most important sights here. Many tourists come here every day as it is a place where vayats live in groups. Eravikulam National Park is one of the largest parks in India. The park is divided into three areas namely core area, buffer area and tourism area. Rajamala is known as a tourism area. Only visitors are allowed here. 26 species of mammals and 132 species of birds live safely inside this park. Entry is not allowed here during the months of January-February. Tourists are prohibited during this time because it is the breeding season of the animals. The origin of many rivers is also within this park. When Chinnar and Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuaries join together, the place becomes a large biodiversity meghalaya of the Western Ghats. Â It is about 20 km from Munnar to reach here.
2. Munnar
Munnar is located at an altitude of about 1600-1800 meters above sea level in Idukki district. Munnar is known as Kashmir of Kerala. Mostly snowy weather. It is also very famous outside Kerala.Munnar’s relevance as a holiday destination dates back to the colonial period. After determining that it was a good location for fostering tea, the British formed tea plantations here. Many bungalows built to house the British can still be seen.
Munnar is a beautiful hill station in Kerala. Munnar is located in the Western Ghats. The name Munnar came from the connection of three rivers namely Madurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kandali. 3. Kurinjimala
Kurinjimala Sanctuary Kurinjimala Sanctuary is spread over Vattavada and Kotakambur villages in Devikulam taluk. The sanctuary protects animals like elephants, Nilgiris, wild buffaloes, deers, wildebeests and rare species like Neelakurinji.Eravikulam, Pampatum Shola and Anamudi Shola National Parks are located near the Kurinjimala Sanctuary. It has a rich collection of rare flora and fauna. The most prominent species among them is Neelakurinji which blooms only once in twelve years. This beautiful perennial flower has a vast grove of 32 square kilometers.Those who come to Munnar can see the Kurinjimala Sanctuary nearby.
4. Vagamon
High ranges are the weakness of many who love Vagamon trips. Trips to cool hill stations are often of indescribable beauty. The number of hill stations is relatively less in Kerala, which has many beaches, pilgrimage sites and historic cities. 5. Peerumedu
Peerumedu is known as one of the health centers of Kerala, famous for its delicious tea and quality tea. Peerumedu is located in the Western Ghats at a height of 915 meters above sea level. This is the reason for the beautiful climate of Peerumedu. It was an important tourist destination for the Travancore royal family. The building, which was used as a summer residence by the royal family, is a piece of history. Now it is a government guest house. Crops such as tea, cardamom and rubber are cultivated here. The main attractions in Peerumedu are Periyar Tiger Sanctuary, waterfalls and trekking. It enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year. It becomes warmer as you get higher..
